Bodywork

What is bodywork?

Bodywork is a form of whole body treatment that involves a variety of techniques to improve the general health and wellbeing of your body. It can include deep and soft tissue massage, stretching of the limbs and spine, mobilising joints, harmonics (oscillatory movements), rebalancing of the skeletal and muscular system, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release amongst others.

Every treatment is tailored to the individual, but follows a similar theme of working across the whole body, from top to toe, to release tension, improve posture, improve lymphatic drainage and help with any chronic or acute injuries. This form of treatment is suitable for most individuals as it can be adjusted to suit your needs.

What to expect during a consultation

A full case history will be taken on your first appointment; here you can explain your reasons for attending and what you hope to achieve from this treatment. An assessment of posture and spinal movement will be conducted, along with any testing or assessment of injuries as required. Aftercare will also be given to offer any nutritional advice, exercises or lifestyle assistance.

Please wear comfortable, loose clothing. Leggings and tracksuit bottoms work well. Ideally it is best to work directly on the skin of the upper body and any areas of injury.

How long is the appointment and how much will it cost?

The initial consultation is 1.5 hours. This gives time to do a full case history and to receive a full body treatment in your first session.

Follow up appointments are for 1 or 1.5 hours.

The initial consultation costs £90.

Follow-up appointments are £60 for 1 hour and £90 for 1.5 hours.

When is it available?

Bodywork is currently available on Tuesday afternoon and evenings and Thursday mornings. Additional appointments may be available upon request.
