OUR PRACTITIONERS

We have 12 practitioners working within the clinic. They work at a variety of different times throughout the week.
Our practitioners were originally listed alphabetically by first name - but now seem to be out of order ! Their details include their usual availability times. We have also added their qualifications and some other personal detail about each one.

PRACTITIONERS #07 SHEILA RALPH
M.H., BSYA(Irid.), (N.Th.), (I.H.),(C.M.A., Ad. C.M.A.)

THERAPIST IN : HERBAL MEDICINE, IRIDOLOGY, NATUROPATHY, NUTRITION, INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE, ACUPRESSURE & TUI’NA

FROM JUNE 2008 - SHEILA WILL MAINLY BE WORKING FROM HER HOME CLINIC IN SIXPENNY HANDLEY. TO CONTACT HER DIRECT PHONE 01725 552265

After discovering the benefits of Herbal Medicine in 1990 I trained as a Master Herbalist in Cambridge with the School of Natural Medicine between 1991 and 1994 studying the teachings of pioneering American Herbalist and Herbal Pharmacist Dr. John Christopher, under the supervision of Dr. Farida Sharan, M.D., M.H. I gained my Master Herbalist Diploma in January 1994. Studies included anatomy, physiology, some psychology, also botany, chemistry of plants and soil structures and the herbs comprising the School’s materia medica, although since then I have added many hundreds more to my own personal list of useful herbs.

From 1996-2000 while I lived in Cyprus I continued my studies. In 1997, I gained a diploma in Iridology, completing my practical training in Cyprus. In 1999 I gained my diploma in advanced Acupressure & Tui’na also with the British School of Yoga. Back in England again I gained my diploma in Nutritional Therapy in 2003, and Indian Head Massage in 2005.

After moving to Sixpenny Handley in 2001 I set up my practice and joined The Centre for Complementary Health Care in Blandford Forum, regularly taking part in natural health exhibitions and fairs and have given talks to various local groups.

I chose this combination of therapies because I had tried them myself and found that they worked very effectively together to provide a naturopathic approach to health, and, because I prefer a natural approach to prevention of illness as well as a cure. I decided to add Naturopathy to my qualifications in 2005 so that I can offer a fully supportive complementary health service to my clients. Future plans include gaining full membership of The Guild of Naturopathic Iridologists.

PRACTITIONERS #08PETE LIVESEY

Pete Livesey was been one of our 3 McTimoney Chiropractors between January and July 2010 as a locum for Graham Morland-Smith. Graham is away travelling and may not now be returning to the clinic . Pete has a practice in Poole and can be contacted on 01202 668549 regarding treatments there.

Pete worked here at the clinic on Thursdays . He left the clinic on the 15th July 2010.
However, we still have our other 2 McTimoney Chiropractors.
Amritam Mills works on Tuesday afternoons. She is often booked up several weeks in advance and is not taking new patients, so we also have Kathryn Edwards on Mondays, to provide McTimoney Chiropractic appointments.

GRAHAM MORLAND-SMITH left us in December 2009. Kathryn Edwards is taking on his patients together with any new patients. See Kathryn Edwards section in practitioners
BA. BSc(Chiro), MSc. MMCA

Graham was a founder partner when this clinic was established in 1999.

He returned to Blandford to join the team early in 2004. Our original McTimoney Chiropractor - Amritam Mills was finding it difficult to keep pace with the growing new patient enquiries. She invited Graham to join and support the growing business.

Graham is not currently at the clinic. In his place - Kathryn Edwards is available on Monday mornings and Pete Livesey was working with us on Thursdays, but left us on 15th July 2010 after a locum period of 6 months.
